2.2.1 - Modifiers are here!

Hello everyone!!

I bring you another update for tecla.  I was able to get some feedback over the past days and it was apparent that the previous hotkey system was very limited. It would only work with single keys and you had to pick from a very long and ugly list. This meant that if you assigned the letter Y as a hotkey it could not be used for anything else, and I think we can all agree that this didn't provide a very user-friendly experience. The way the keys were picked was also terrible and not straightforward. As such, I have completely redesigned the Settings menu. It is now split into General and Hotkeys, where General will contain on-off features like Light Mode, and Hotkeys will be dedicated to configuring the hotkeys for the app.

In Hotkeys, you can now click on the button you want to reassign and then select from any of the newly-available modifier keys. You have Ctrl, Shift and Alt, and you are able to configure them however you like. Then, the fourth available space will be for the key you press while the input is in focus. You are no longer limited to numbers and letters, and are now able to configure any key that you can press on your keyboard. Function keys like F19-F24 are still available.

I really hope you enjoy this new update, I think it brings a lot more quality of life and makes tecla more accessible for anyone that cannot afford to have an external device, and wishes to pair it with their existing standard keyboard experience.

The DEMO for tecla has also been updated to reflect the new hotkey system. Check it out for FREE, and get a feel for how tecla works!

Changelog for 2.2.1:

- Addition of modifier keys into hotkeys.

See you next time!
